Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Aerarium collects, uses, protects, and lets you control your information across the Aerarium iOS app ("the app") and the Aerarium website. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.

Information we collect

• Account information: your email address and name, used to authenticate you and create your profile.
• Financial data you create: portfolio accounts, positions, goals, trade theses, cash-flow settings, and Investment Policy Statements.
• Profile data: age, risk-tolerance responses, investment horizon, and base-currency preference.
• Brokerage data (optional): if you connect a brokerage through SnapTrade, we receive read-only access to your holdings, balances, and connection metadata.
• Identifiers: an account user ID that associates your data with your account.
• Website data: if you join the founder/launch list, your email plus optional referral code, source, and timestamp; and standard hosting and security logs.

What we do not collect

• Social Security Numbers, Tax IDs, or other government-issued identifiers.
• Bank or brokerage login credentials — SnapTrade uses read-only OAuth, so we never see your brokerage password.
• Payment card numbers — subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store.

How we use your information

• To provide the app's features: portfolio tracking, policy scoring, exposure analysis (Portfolio X-Ray), and goals.
• To authenticate you and operate optional brokerage sync.
• To send launch updates and founder communications if you joined the list.
• To keep the service reliable and protect it from abuse.

We use your data only to deliver and improve the app's functionality — not for advertising or tracking.

Encryption — and what it does and doesn't cover

We take a data-minimization approach and encrypt your sensitive financial values (such as position quantities, cost basis, balances, and goal amounts) on your device using standard encryption (AES-256-GCM) before they are stored, so those dollar amounts are not readable in our database.

To be clear about what this does not mean: Aerarium is not a fully "zero-knowledge" system. Some information is necessarily stored in a readable form to operate the service — including your email address, your name, account and brokerage connection metadata, and the brokerage holdings imported on your behalf through SnapTrade. This operational data is protected by access controls and used only to run the service. No method of storage is perfectly secure.

You can also enable an optional Face ID / Touch ID lock in the app, and you set a recovery key that lets you restore access to your encrypted financial fields on a new device.

How we share data

We share data only with service providers that help us operate Aerarium: our backend host (Supabase), and — if you opt in — the brokerage-connectivity provider (SnapTrade). Apple processes subscription payments. We do not sell personal data.

Data retention, export, and deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. In the app you can export your data (Profile → Export Data) or permanently delete your account and associated data (Profile → Delete My Account). To be removed from the website founder list, reply to any Aerarium email or contact us below.

Children

Aerarium is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this policy and will revise the "Last updated" date above.
